You pack your rucksack and make sure you have … well, what should you bring on your hike? And how do you pack properly? Here are the answers.

The sun is shining and the mountains around Ascona and our Vista Lakefront Boutique Hotel offer amazing views and incredibly pleasant temperatures. Learn how to perfectly and carefully pack your rucksack for your successful mountain adventure. The golden rule is: as much as necessary, as little as possible.

We’ve collected the rucksack essentials for you here:

• Especially important with high temperatures: an additional t-shirt to get changed into (a fresh pair of socks is also priceless)
• Even when it’s hot in the valley, the mountain wind can be stronger: a light windbreaker works wonders
• A small first-aid kit with blister plasters, plasters, cream against insect bites, and tissues
• Sun cream!
• Enough water
• A muesli bar, some fruit or nuts. If necessary: Dextrose candies give you quick energy!

With good, sturdy hiking boots and a well-planned tour, nothing will hold you back from hiking at Lake Maggiore.
